What the card is
This is a 2025 Topps Transcendent Roki Sasaki rookie autograph, a 1/1, from the "Rookie Through The Years" design, as described in the listing title (which spells the set "Transcendant"). It is a one-of-one rookie-card autograph from Topps' most exclusive baseball product.
Why Topps Transcendent matters
Transcendent is the most expensive product Topps makes for baseball. It debuted in 2016 as a wooden-case release limited to 65 units, and in 2023 it moved to its current one-box-per-case format. The 2025 edition, released April 1, 2026, packs 42 cards into each box, including multiple autographs, autograph patches, rookie autographs, a premium patch relic, Transcendent Icons Chrome packs and an invitation to a Topps VIP event. A one-of-one rookie autograph from that product is about as exclusive as modern baseball cards get.
Why Sasaki matters to collectors
Roki Sasaki arrived in Major League Baseball already famous. On April 10, 2022, pitching for the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan, he threw a perfect game with 19 strikeouts, including 13 in a row. He was part of Japan's 2023 World Baseball Classic championship team, and in January 2025 he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an international free agent, joining Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
That 2025 debut season makes this his rookie year in the hobby, the window where collectors chase first-year cards hardest.
