What the card is
This is a 2024 Topps Dynasty Shohei Ohtani Patch Autograph, card #DAP-SO2, serial numbered 1/10, showing Ohtani as a Los Angeles Dodger. The 1/10 serial means it is the first copy of a ten-card run, a detail many collectors like to have.
Why Topps Dynasty matters
Dynasty is Topps' one-card-per-box baseball product. Every box delivers a single encased, on-card autograph patch card, and every card is sequentially numbered to 10 or less with game-used memorabilia built into the design. There is no base set to fill out a box. You open it for one premium hit, which is exactly why Dynasty autographs of the game's biggest names are treated as centerpiece cards.
Why Ohtani matters to collectors
Shohei Ohtani is the defining baseball player of his generation and the most important two-way player since Babe Ruth. After arriving from Japan he won 2018 AL Rookie of the Year with the Angels, then the AL MVP in 2021 and 2023. He signed with the Dodgers ahead of the 2024 season, and in his first year in Los Angeles became the first player in Major League history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season.
He won the NL MVP in 2024 and again in 2025, giving him four MVP awards, every one of them unanimous. Only Barry Bonds has more. He is also the first player to win multiple MVPs in both leagues, and he won the World Series with the Dodgers in both 2024 and 2025. For collectors, that combination of history-making performance, championships and worldwide appeal makes Ohtani one of the strongest names in the hobby.
