National Treasures vs Flawless vs Immaculate
National Treasures vs Flawless vs Immaculate: how Panini's top basketball brands compare on print runs, Logomans, record sales and buying risks.
For high-end basketball collectors in the Panini era (roughly 2009-10 through 2024-25), three names stood at the top: National Treasures, Flawless and Immaculate. Collectors argue constantly about which is "best." There is no single answer, because each brand suits a different goal. This guide compares them using measurable data where it exists and a buyer's framework where it does not. We do not invent specs. Product details vary by year, so always check the official checklist for the exact release you are buying.
The Short Answer
- National Treasures (NT): the longest-running Panini ultra-premium brand. Its RPAs became the defining rookie card for many stars, and it holds the Panini-era records for Curry ($5.9 million valuation) and Giannis ($1,857,300).
- Flawless: smaller RPA print runs (for example, /25 on Luka's 2018-19 RPA, compared with /99 for NT) and showpiece multi-player Logomans. It holds Luka's top sale at $4.7 million.
- Immaculate: a third premium Panini line, best judged one card at a time. It has fewer widely reported record sales than NT or Flawless, so buyers should lean heavily on card-specific comps and checklists.
A Direct Comparison on the Same Rookie
The cleanest way to compare brands is to use the same player and the same season. Luka Doncic's 2018-19 rookie year gives us both NT and Flawless data.
Figure 1: National Treasures vs Flawless on Luka Doncic's 2018-19 rookie cards.
| Metric (Luka Doncic, 2018-19) | National Treasures | Flawless |
|---|---|---|
| Base RPA print run | /99 | /25 |
| BGS-graded base RPAs (late 2023) | 83 | 16 |
| Recent BGS 9.5 base RPA sale | $84,000 (Jul 2023) | $30,000 (May 2023) |
| Top 1/1 Logoman sale | $4.6M (private, 2021); $3.12M (public, Nov 2022) | $4.7M (private, 2025) |
Two lessons stand out:
- Scarcity does not always mean a higher price. The Flawless RPA has a quarter of the print run, yet a BGS 9.5 copy sold for less than a BGS 9.5 NT RPA in mid-2023. Brand tradition, demand and timing all play a part.
- At the 1/1 level, the brands come close to even. The two Luka Logomans traded within $100,000 of each other, four years apart.
National Treasures: Strengths and Trade-offs
Strengths - The longest record of results, from the 2009-10 Curry Logoman to the 2023-24 Wembanyama Logoman ($528,000). - Deep liquidity for base RPAs: more copies (/99) means more frequent sales and better comps. - Collectors widely treat it as the classic rookie patch auto.
Trade-offs - Larger print runs mean more competing copies in each grade. - Big price swings. Luka's NT RPA in BGS 9.5 fell from $266,400 (April 2022) to $66,000 (May 2023).

Flawless: Strengths and Trade-offs
Strengths - Smaller RPA print runs. - Signature multi-Logomans. The 2020-21 LeBron Triple Logoman sold for $2.4 million in June 2022, and Sotheby's highlights the 2020-21 Warriors Triple and the 2022-23 LeBron/Giannis/Durant Triple. - Two Kobe Flawless Logoman autos brought $2.3 million and $1.7 million privately in 2025.
Trade-offs - Thin markets. With only 16 BGS-graded Luka Flawless RPAs, a fair comp may be hard to find. - Fewer sales mean wider gaps between asking prices and actual sale prices.

Immaculate: How to Evaluate It
Immaculate is Panini's third premium basketball line. It has fewer headline sales in the press, so we cannot give you documented benchmarks the way we can for NT and Flawless. That does not make Immaculate cards worse. It means you need to do more homework:
- Use card-specific comps for the same player, card, parallel and grade.
- Read the checklist for print runs, autograph type and memorabilia type for that year.
- Read the card back for "player-worn" or "not associated with any player" language. That wording mattered a great deal on Wemby's NT Logoman, as Yahoo Sports/cllct reported.
- Expect lower liquidity than flagship NT RPAs.
A Buyer's Checklist for Any Ultra-Premium Card
Figure 2: Seven checks before you buy any National Treasures, Flawless or Immaculate card.
- Print run: confirm the serial numbering on the official checklist.
- Autograph type: on-card or sticker, and the autograph grade if one is given.
- Patch type: Logoman, multi-color, tag or plain, plus the material description on the back.
- Rookie status: a true rookie-season card or a later-year design.
- Grade and grader: verify the cert on the grader's site (see PSA cert verification).
- Comparable sales: the same card, grade and parallel only.
- Provenance: prior sales and grading history for expensive cards.
Grading and Condition Across the Three Brands
All three brands make thick, memorabilia-heavy cards, so condition behaves differently than on thin chromium cards like Prizm.
- Edges and corners on thick stock show wear more easily, and a high grade is harder to get than on standard-thickness cards.
- Patch windows can be off-center or show damaged material. Graders weigh this against the overall eye appeal.
- Autograph grades are common on these slabs. A strong card grade with a weak autograph grade sells at a discount.
- The grader matters. Many legacy ultra-premium cards sit in BGS slabs with subgrades, while recent submissions lean toward PSA. Compare prices within the same grader where you can. For more on that choice, see PSA vs BGS vs SGC.
These factors explain why two cards from the same brand, year and serial range can sell for very different prices.
Which Should You Collect?
- You want liquidity and classic rookie status: National Treasures RPAs.
- You want maximum scarcity and display appeal: Flawless RPAs and Logomans.
- You want value hunting and are willing to research: Immaculate, one card at a time.
- You want the hobby's original premium brand: look back to Upper Deck Exquisite.
Whichever you choose, the Logoman sits at the top of all three. Our Logoman guide explains why.
The License Factor
Topps became the NBA's exclusive licensee on October 1, 2025 (NBA.com). Licensed NT, Flawless and Immaculate basketball releases are now finished. That closes the supply of Panini-era rookies such as Luka, Zion and Wembanyama in these brands. Future Topps ultra-premium products will compete for the same buyers, and how those products are received will affect demand for Panini-era cards.
FAQ
Is National Treasures or Flawless more valuable?
It depends on the card. On Luka's rookie, the Flawless 1/1 Logoman ($4.7 million) slightly topped the NT 1/1 Logoman ($4.6 million). In mid-2023, though, a BGS 9.5 NT RPA sold for more than a BGS 9.5 Flawless RPA.
Which has smaller print runs, NT or Flawless?
On Luka's 2018-19 base RPA, Flawless is numbered to 25 and NT to 99. Check each year's checklist, because print runs vary.
Is Immaculate considered ultra-premium?
Yes, it is one of Panini's premium basketball lines. It has fewer widely reported record sales, so price each card on specific comps.
Which brand has the most expensive card?
Among these three, National Treasures. Its 2009-10 Curry Rookie Logoman Auto was valued at $5.9 million when Alt bought a 51% stake in 2021.
Are these brands still being made with NBA logos?
No. Topps became the exclusive NBA licensee on October 1, 2025.
