Victor Wembanyama Rookie Cards: Records & Key Cards

Victor Wembanyama rookie cards explained: the $5.11M Prizm Black, Logoman and Nebula records, Prizm Silver PSA 10 prices, and why his cards lack autos.

Victor Wembanyama arrived in 2023-24 as the most hyped NBA prospect in a generation, and his rookie cards have lived up to it. In May 2026, a single Wembanyama rookie card sold for $5.11 million, the highest price ever reported for a non-autographed NBA card. His market has also been a case study in volatility. His flagship Prizm Silver PSA 10 dropped to about $800 in early 2025, then traded around $3,000 in late 2026.

This guide covers the Wemby rookie cards that matter, the record sales behind them, and one feature that makes his market unusual: his licensed rookie cards have no autographs.

Wembanyama's Record Ladder

Horizontal bar chart of Victor Wembanyama record sales: $5.11M Prizm Black PSA 10 (private, May 2026), $860,100 Prizm Nebula Choice (Feb 2025), $528,000 National Treasures Logoman (Mar 2025), $516,000 Prizm Black Shimmer (Apr 2024) and $133,000 Optic Nebula Choice (Jul 2025) Figure 1: How Wembanyama's record sales climbed. Navy bars are public auctions; the orange bar is a reported private sale.

2023-24 Panini Prizm Black 1/1 (PSA 10): $5,110,000

In May 2026, Fanatics Collect brokered the private sale of Wemby's Prizm Black 1/1 for $5.11 million. The Los Angeles Times and ESPN reported it as the highest known price for an NBA card without an autograph. Prizm Black is the 1/1 parallel of Panini's flagship chromium set.

2023-24 Prizm Nebula Choice 1/1: $860,100

On February 22, 2025, Goldin sold the Nebula Choice 1/1 for $860,100. The Athletic reported a striking detail: bidding stood at just over $400,000 when news of his season-ending blood-clot diagnosis broke, and it more than doubled after the announcement.

2023-24 National Treasures Logoman 1/1: $528,000

In March 2025, Fanatics Collect's Premier Auction sold Wemby's National Treasures Logoman for $528,000. Yahoo Sports/cllct pointed out that it has no autograph, and the back says the material "is not associated with any specific player, game, or event." Our Logoman guide explains why that matters.

2023-24 Prizm Black Shimmer 1/1: $516,000

In April 2024, this card set the Wembanyama record that held until the Nebula sale (The Athletic).

2023-24 Donruss Optic Nebula Choice 1/1: $133,000

In July 2025, Sports Illustrated reported this six-figure Optic sale and ranked it among the ten biggest Wemby sales at the time. Compare the two Panini brands in Prizm vs Optic.

Why Wembanyama Rookie Cards Have No Autographs

Most top modern rookies have rookie patch autos as their grail cards. Wembanyama does not, at least among Panini-licensed rookies. Yahoo Sports/cllct explained that Wembanyama had an exclusive autograph deal with Fanatics, while Panini held the NBA license and the rights to team names and logos. Because of that split, his licensed Panini rookie cards to date have lacked signatures.

That one fact shapes his whole high-end market:

  • 1/1 parallels lead the way. Without RPAs, Prizm Black, Nebula and Black Shimmer 1/1s became his top chase cards.
  • Logomans sell without signatures. The $528,000 National Treasures Logoman is far below the signed rookie Logomans of Luka ($4.6 million) and Giannis ($1.857 million).
  • The license change opens a new chapter. Topps became the NBA's exclusive licensee on October 1, 2025 (NBA.com), and Panini's final licensed NBA product was 2025 Prizm Black (Giant Sports Cards). Wemby's Panini rookies are therefore a fixed set, and later Topps products will be his licensed cards from here on.

The Flagship: 2023-24 Prizm Silver #136 PSA 10

Bar chart of the 2023-24 Prizm Silver Wembanyama PSA 10: about $800 in February 2025 and a July to October 2026 range of $2,628 low, $3,026.73 average and $3,350 high, with a population of 5,284 Figure 2: Prizm Silver PSA 10 prices. The February 2025 figure is approximate (The Athletic); the 2026 figures come from 194 sales tracked by Card Ladder.

  • February 2025: The Athletic put the PSA 10 at about $800, down roughly 60% from a year earlier.
  • July 16 to October 16, 2026: Card Ladder tracked 194 sales with an average of $3,026.73, a low of $2,628 and a high of $3,350. The last sale was $2,819 on October 15, 2026.
  • Population: Card Ladder lists 5,284 PSA 10s.

With more than 5,000 PSA 10 copies, this is a liquid, mass-market card. It reacts quickly to injuries, awards and playoff results, which makes it a good daily read on how collectors feel about Wemby, and a risky place to hold concentrated money. See investing in basketball cards for more.

Wemby vs Other Generational Rookies

How does Wembanyama's top card compare with the defining rookies of earlier stars?

Player Top rookie-era card Reported price Autographed?
LeBron James 2003-04 Exquisite RPA /23 (BGS 9) $5,200,000 (2021, private) Yes
Victor Wembanyama 2023-24 Prizm Black 1/1 (PSA 10) $5,110,000 (2026, private) No
Luka Doncic 2018-19 Flawless Rookie Logoman Auto 1/1 $4,700,000 (2025, private) Yes
Giannis Antetokounmpo 2013-14 National Treasures Logoman Auto 1/1 $1,857,300 (2020, Goldin) Yes

Wemby's top card reached LeBron territory without an autograph or a patch, which no earlier generational rookie had done. That says a lot about demand for him, and about how far the hobby has shifted toward chromium 1/1 parallels as grail cards.

How to Collect Wembanyama at the High End

Tier 1: Prizm Silver and Optic Holo in PSA 10

These trade often, have clear comps and are easy to sell. They suit collectors who want exposure without a big outlay.

Tier 2: numbered Prizm and Optic parallels

Colored parallels with low serial numbers have thinner markets. Price them against the same parallel, not against the Silver.

Tier 3: ultra-premium 1/1s

Prizm Black, Nebula, Black Shimmer and the National Treasures Logoman sit at the top. They rarely trade, so each sale resets the benchmark.

Tier 4: Fanatics- and Topps-era cards

As Topps ramps up NBA products, new autographed and patch cards of Wembanyama may appear. Value them as a separate market from his Panini rookies. For a sense of what Topps' rookie flagship can bring, read about Rookie Debut Patch Autographs.

What the Injury Sale Teaches Us

The February 2025 Nebula sale is a useful lesson. Many expected bad health news to weaken bids. Instead, the price more than doubled after the diagnosis was announced. Meanwhile, the liquid Prizm Silver PSA 10 slumped to around $800 that month. Unique cards and mass-market cards can react in opposite ways to the same news. Buyers of 1/1s often think in multi-year terms, while the market for liquid cards reacts within days. We look at more of these patterns in our 2026 market trends report.
